Organizing
Tags
Label transactions by trip, project, person, or purpose.
A transaction has one category and any number of tags. Categories decide the
breakdowns in Cashflow; tags don't. For a trip, keep meals in Restaurants and
flights in Travel, then tag both Japan to see what the trip cost without changing
those totals.
Common uses:
- Reimbursable: what someone owes you. Remove the tag once you're paid back.
- Projects, such as a kitchen renovation.
- Business expenses to review at tax time.
- By person, to see who spent what on shared cards.
Creating and applying tags
Create tags in Settings → Tags or while tagging a transaction. Each has a name, unique in the household, and a color.
Add tags from a transaction's details, select several transactions to tag them at once, or have a rule apply them. Filter the Transactions tab by tag to see the combined total.
Deleting a tag
Deleting removes the tag from every transaction and from rule actions. A rule left with no actions is deleted.
